Mantra: Aykaa Maaee

Translation:
Aykaa maa-ee jugat vi-aa-ee tin chaylay parvaan.
Ik sansaaree ik bhandaaree ik laa-ay deebaan.
Jiv tis bhaavai tivai chalaavai jiv hovai furmaan.
Oh vaykhai onaa nadar na aavai bahutaa ayhu vidaan.

More Information:
There is a long history of scholars attempting to deny the phrase Aykaa Maaee as meaning “One Divine Mother” and instead translating the word Maya, which means illusion. This was believed to be due to the patriarchal bent of scholars over the years. Now, this mantra is recited almost as a celebration of the recognition of the original intention of this mantra as honoring the “One Divine Mother.”

Comments:
The One Divine Mother conceived and gave birth to the three deities. One, the Creator of the World; One, the Sustainer; and One, the Destroyer. The Creator makes things happen according to the Pleasure of His Will. Such is the Celestial Order. The Creator watches over all, but none see Him. How wonderful this is! I bow to the Divine, I humbly bow. The Primal One, the Pure Light, without beginning, without end. Throughout all the ages, The Creator is One and the Same.

JapJi is the very first composition in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, (the Sikh Scripture), and is a fundamental description of Gods nature and the nature of man and the universe. Japji is the poetic meditation which links the mind of man to his soul or infinite nature, and relates to the element ether. Japji has the power to control ones "Ji" or soul. Whenever you cannot feel your soul or when the radiance of your soul is weak, Guru Nanak* gave Japji to recite. He said that the forty pauris (stanzas) would liberate humanity from the cycles of birth and death. Each pauri addresses different aspects of the relationship between man and God and each has a specific power and gift that comes with it.
