Sangeet Kaur Khalsa's biogragraphy.
Sangeet Kaur's Name literally means "Princess of Divine Music." Her teacher who gifted her with this spiritual name that evokes her destiny, once told her that for her in particular, as a teacher, creative writer and musician, it had a more direct meaning in the realm of human relations: "the Princess who brings peace and harmony."
If you ask Sangeet Kaur who she is, she says simply,"I'm a humanologist," referring to the science of humanology launched by renowned Yoga Master Yogi Bhajan which he called "the study of the possible human." That possible human, who lives in all of us, is what she unlocks through the practice of yoga and meditation. The wisdom Sangeet Kaur presents in her Womanheart book is rooted in what she learned from her teacher as well as what life taught her over decades of work in journalism, corporate public relations with top New York companies, and teaching both yoga and healing techniques to thousands.
At the height of her New York career, Sangeet Kaur met Yogi Bhajan and went on to train with him for nearly 30 years. In 1991 she launched her Womanheart Spiritual Immersion retreats, drawing women annually to the Southwest from across the US as well as from a half-dozen other countries. Her book is an outgrowth of those retreats. Her devotion to awakening the best in all of us also comes through in the colorful, rhythmic chants on her two CDs. The sweet devotion in her voice pulls us up into the awakened state. Sangeet Kaur recorded these CDs to help everyone adopt a daily spiritual practice of meditation.
1. Tuning In
The Adi Mantra chanted three times links you to the Golden Chain of master teachers who have brought the ancient science of kundalini yoga and meditation down through the ages to us. Chant this mantra before doing yoga or meditation.
2. Wahe Guru
This is a very high mantra for self-transformation. Chanting Wahe Guru brings your destiny closer to you. This clears the darkness from the clouds in our hearts, helps us to avoid inherent danger, adjusts our perception of ourselves and helps us overcome feelings of poor self-worth. Practice for 40 days and keep going!
3. Ra Ma Da Sa
This is one of the oldest and highest healing chants. It can bring you out of all sickness on every level. It can be chanted in a group, in a healing circle, or alone by yourself.
4. Guru Ram Das
This chant brings phenomenal peace, protection and healing. It invokes the presence of one of the greatest Masters, Guru Ram Das, who brought to the people of 16th century India, and later the world, the ancient sciences of kundalini yoga, meditation and related healing abilities.
5. Longtime Sunshine
Yogi Bhajan once commented that any yoga or meditation you do that begins with the Adi Mantra and ends with "Longtime Sunshine" can only work for your good. So use them both!
