This mantra is a protective ashtang mantra. It’s like a protective forcefield that makes it impossible for animosity to touch you. This mantra takes our focus from death (Kal) to undying (Akal) to our self beyond death (Akaal Moorat) and then to ‘Wahe Guru’ an exclamation of ecstasy for the Divine. This mantra takes these opposing polarities and exalts them. In recognizing both death and the undying spirit of the soul, we remove the fear of it.
In that process, we become protected from the things that might push negativity on us. It’s a mantra that provides a protective seal and allays the fear of death.
